One of the healthiest snacks doesn't have to be the most difficult. Create your own hummus using simple ingredients in less than 5 minutes!
Start to finish: 15-20 minutes
If you want hummus on the fly, this recipe will stretch for a few servings. Canned chickpeas don’t taste as fresh as chickpeas soaked in water over time, but for people in a rush, this nutritious "cheat" snack is a great way to go when you’re cutting time. If you’re worried about starch and fat, just remember eating this with celery, red or yellow bell peppers, carrots, and/or cucumbers keeps this a healthy snack and alkaline, which is key.
What you'll need:
*Can of chickpeas
*1-2 cloves of garlic
*1/4 cup tahini
*2 tablespoons olive oil
*1 dash of Paprika
*2 tablespoons water
Blend everything except lemon into a creamy goodness.
While in the blender squeeze lemon juice into the hummus (watch the seeds!)
Chop up your favorite raw veggies to go with your healthy snack.
